Greetings Parents and Families of M.E.S.M.S.,

It’s hard to believe that December is already here! DON’T FORGET; winter is upon us.  WINTER COATS, HATS, SCARFS, and GLOVES are needed.  Students will be outside in the morning and at lunch if the temperature is 29 degrees or warmer.  Appropriate attire is a must for the chilly days ahead.

Our eighth graders enjoyed Washington, D.C.  From Arlington to the White House, history came alive for our students.  They are still abuzz with excitement about what they learned and what they saw while on the trip.  As always, this trip would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our staff.  If you have the opportunity, please let them know the impact the trip had upon your student.

The 3rd Annual Arts Night was a huge success! Attendance was magnificent!  The Music Department and Music Parents were the finest of hosts for our Spaghetti Dinner.  The art displays were out-of sight!  In addition, every Arts educator had special events taking place in their rooms.  It was a great night that exemplified the importance the arts play in the lives of our students.

Parent/Teacher Conferences went well.  Many students are meeting with great success.  If your student is struggling and you did not attend a conference for your child, please be sure to contact your child’s teacher to develop a plan for success.

Thank you for your continued support of the Middle School.  As we approach the winter recess, please be sure to mark your calendars for upcoming events.  Until the next school event, please stay well and have a joyful holiday season.

Best regards,

Erica Faginski

The following information will assist you when the weather is uncooperative.  Emergency closure/delayed start decisions are made beginning at

5:30 A.M. for the day.  Information is provided to the following media:  WGGB (Ch. 40)WWLP (Ch. 22), and WSHM-CBS (Ch. 3) on the television and the following radio stations:  WHYN (560 AM and 93 FM), WTTT (100.9 FM), WHMP (1400 AM and 99.3 FM), WAQY (102 FM), and WMAS (1450 AM and 95 FM).  Also, when schools are closed for the day, all classes and school activities are canceled.  When we have a delayed start, every effort is made to maintain timely bus service every day.  But, when road conditions are poor, or the weather is extremely cold, bus schedules can be disrupted or slowed.  We appreciate parents’ understanding and flexibility
